We start the Peru Amazon Tours, in the city of Cusco where you can visit the colonial building and the Inca temples located outskirts of the city; travel through the wonderful Sacred Valley of the Incas, where you’ll visit the Inca ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytatambo and the colorful and traditional market of the town of Pisac where you can purchase some handicrafts and artisans directly from the producers. Day 1: Arrival to Cusco

  • Arrival to Cusco at any time.
  • Free day in the city of Cusco.
  • If you arrive to Cusco before noon, optionally you can take our city tour program; from 01:30 p.m to 06:30 p.m.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas

  • Full-day guided tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
  • Visit the Inca Ruins of Pisac and Ollantaytambo.
  • Visit the traditional market of the town of Pisac.
  • Stop at the town of Urubamba for lunch.
  • In the afternoon, we’ll travel 2 hours by train to the town of “Aguas calientes”

Days 3-4: Machu Picchu Trip

  • Very early, please take bus for 25 minutes up to Macho Picchu.
  • Enjoy 2–3 hour tour within Machu Picchu.
  • Enjoy free time at Macho Picchu; optionally you can climb Huaynapicchu Mountain or walk up the Sun gate.
  • Overnight at the town of “Aguas  Calientes”.
  • Next day at before noon take the train to Ollantaytambo, from where you’ll be transferred to Cusco.

Days 5-6: Jungle Trip

  • After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport of Cusco.
    Flight 45 minutes to Puerto Maldonado.
    2 hour-travel by motorized canoe to our Lodge.
    Enjoy you lunch in the lodge and in the afternoon, you’ll visit the Monkey Island.
    The next day, full-day explore the Amazon jungle.

Day 7: Lima or Cusco

  • After breakfast. you’ll be transferred to the airport.
  • Depending on your itinerary. the flight will be to Lima or Cusco.

Day 1: Arrival to Cusco

Peru Amazon Tours begins when you arrive to Cusco at any time; however, we must now your flight details for the reception in the airport of Cusco. At the airport, you’ll meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring this fascinating city, and getting used to the altitude. If you arrive before noon, optionally you can take our city tour program where you’ll visit the Cathedral, the Qorikancha or the Temple of the Sun of the Incas, the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, other Inca temples like: Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay.

The city tour starts at 01:30 p.m and finishes at 06:30 p.m in the Main Square in order that you can enjoy your dinner in one of the local restaurants.

Day 2: Sacred valley of the Incas

The Sacred Valley of the Incas – Peru Amazon tours

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from the hotel at 08:30 a.m and travel through the spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas; we’ll leave Cusco and 1 hour later, we’ll arrive to Pisac where we’ll visit the impressive Inca ruins; after that we’ll visit the colourful artisan market in the town of Pisac. From Pisac, we’ll continue travel though the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas until Urubamba village where we’ll stop for lunch, after that, we’ll continue for 30 minutes by bus to Ollantaytambo where we’ll visit large Inca ruins which lies adjacent to the town of the same name where we’ll catch the train for 2 hours to the picturesque town of “Aguas Calientes” and have accommodation in the hotel.

Ollantaytambo are strategically situated overlooking the beautiful Urubamba River Valley. This major ruin site is known as the best surviving example of Inca urban planning and engineering. It is admired for its huge steep terraces guarding the Inca Fortress and for being one of the few places where the Spaniards lost a major battle during the conquest.

Days 3-4: Machu Picchu Trip

Very early in the morning, we’ll take the bus for 25 minutes up to Machu Picchu known as the “Lost City of the Incas”. Tour Machu Picchu with our expert guide for 2 or 3 hours during which you’ll visit the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds follow by some free time to explore the zone on your own and experience the energy and force contained therein.

Full-day, you can explore Machu Picchu; after the tour, you can climb optionally Huayna Picchu Mountain (check availability) or walk up the Sungate. After all, you can walk down or take bus down to the town of “Aguas Calientes” and in the evening you can go to relax in the natural hot springs or just overnight at the select lodging in the town of “Aguas Calientes”.

The next day before noon, you’ll take the train to Ollantaytambo train station from where you’ll be transferred to Cusco and have accommodation in the hotel.

Days 5-6: Jungle Trip

Our jungle lodge at Puerto Maldonado – Peru Amazon tours

After breakfast in the hotel, you’ll be transferred to the airport and fly 45 minutes from Cusco, high in the Andes, to Puerto Maldonado, deep in the lowlands of the Amazon jungle. Then, we’ll travel by motorized canoe for 2 hours approximately to our lodge where you’ll enjoy an excellent lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the Island of the monkeys where you’ll see different types of monkeys. The next day, full-day you’ll explore the amazon jungle without expert guide and when you return to the lodge you can rest or swim in the pool. The next day very early, you’ll have your breakfast, after which we’ll transfer you to the airport and return to Cusco or Lima.

About half of Peru is located within the Amazon Basin, however, due to its isolation, not a lot of it is available to the casual traveller. Puerto Maldonado is the region’s principal city and is serviced by air from the capital and from Cusco. The town is situated at the confluence of the Madre de Dios and Tambopata Rivers, and is a bustling, booming tropical frontier town. Its principal activities are gold mining, Brazil nut gather & harvest, timber extraction, agriculture and ecotourism. After a brief stop in the town, we’ll depart on an afternoon boat trip by motorized canoe to our jungle lodge.

During our trip, you will have the chance to see bird species typical of the river or forest edge such as Black Skimmers, Pied Lapwings, Capped Herons, Jabiru Storks, Roadside Hawks and several species of kingfishers, swallows, and flycatchers.

Day 7: Lima or Cusco.

Depending on your itinerary the flight will be to Lima or Cusco.
